Policeman Shot Dead, Another Found Dead in Jamrud, Khyber

A police constable was shot dead by unidentified gunmen in Jamrud, Khyber district, on Friday, while the body of another policeman was recovered from a separate location in the same area, officials said.

Constable Gunned Down Near His Home

Officials at the Khyber District Police Officer's (DPO) office in Shahkas said Constable Kamran Khan was attacked near his home in Jalaldin Kalay, which falls within the limits of the Jamrud police station. He was reportedly on his way to the station at the time.

According to officials, the constable suffered multiple bullet wounds and died at the scene. The attackers were riding a motorcycle and fled after the shooting.

Police said a case has been registered against unidentified suspects and an investigation is under way to trace them. No individual or group has claimed responsibility for the killing.

Funeral Prayers Held at Shahkas Police Centre

The funeral prayers for the slain constable were offered at the Shahkas Police Centre in Jamrud. Senior police officials, including the Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Peshawar and the DPO Khyber, attended, along with members of the district administration, local tribal elders and relatives of the deceased.

Body of Second Policeman Found in Ghundi

In a separate incident, the body of another policeman was found early Friday near Sakhi Pul in the Ghundi area of Jamrud. Jamrud police identified him as Bahadur Shah, a resident of Peshawar. His body bore multiple bullet wounds.

After initial inquiries by Khyber police, the body was transferred to Peshawar. Officials said the motive behind his killing has not yet been established.
